When I think of Research....

The insights I have gained through this course are many. I have learned there are many ways in which research is classified, and I have only begun to understand a few of them. Many avenues have to be considered before beginning a research adventure.

I have changed my ideas about research because I had no idea research was such a complex endeavor. I am in awe of people who do this as a career.

The challenges I have encountered have been the complexity of dissecting a research method in order to better understand it. I believe the only ways available to meet it are to slow down and take it step by step.

My perceptions of an early childhood professional have been modified because I truly had no idea of the immensity of a research foundation. I understood it required much work, but perhaps not the magnitude of it!

I would like to thank my classmates for all the positive comments and support they have provided throughout such a challenging course. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Dr. Davis for enlightening us about such a necessary subject. She has truly showed us the light at the end of the tunnel! I wish blessings to all and good luck in your future endeavors!

  1. Hi Deb, I agree that research is a very complicated thing. I have a new respect for research because I had no idea that it entailed so much. I do feel better because at the beginning of the class I was really lost. I have made it through with the help of Dr. Davis and my classmates. I wish you much success in the future.

  2. Hello Deb,
It is great that people are willing to go through all the steps to make such that research is valid, and a true reflection of the true world. As always it was good to put a name to things that I was aware of but didn't know it had a name, for example the deficit method. It is always a joy to read what you have written and thank you for helping get my work done (I am afraid I am going to lose power tomorrow).

  3. Hi Deb, I agree with you on research have to be classify. It would be very hard for me to be a research because I would not know where to start. I did not understand at first about the research assignment until the end.

  5. Hi Deb,
Like you... I have learned a lot throughout the course although I found it a tad bit difficult to understand a lot of it. Also, like you... I never knew how challenging research was until this course. I thought it was simple and complex but there is a lot more to it then I ever knew. Thanks for being a good classmate and good luck in all your future classes!

I agree research is complex and complicated, thanks to Dr. Davis for her patience and guidance during this class. I know that I could never do research and I have great respect to those that have the passion to conduct good research as well as those that teach research. Deb thanks for keeping the class moving with your ongoing conversations. Good luck on your journey.
